Israel warns: Yemen faces the same fate as Iran
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has announced the launch of a military operation named "Black Flag" targeting the Shiite movement Ansar Allah, commonly known as the Houthis, who control northern Yemen.
According to Caliber.Az, Katz made the announcement on his social media page on X, stating that the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) carried out powerful strikes against terrorist targets linked to the Houthi regime. Among the targets was the vessel Galaxy Leader, which was seized by the Houthis approximately two years ago and is reportedly being used for terrorist activities in the Red Sea.

In his statement, Katz said, “As part of the 'Black Flag' operation, the Israel Defense Forces struck powerful blows against terrorist targets of the Houthi regime and the vessel Galaxy Leader, which was seized by the Houthis about two years ago and is currently being used for terrorist activities in the Red Sea.”
Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Katz warned, “the fate of Yemen is the same as the fate of Tehran. Anyone who tries to harm Israel will be harmed, and anyone who raises a hand against Israel will have their hand cut off,” highlighting Israel’s firm stance against threats from the region.
Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, the Iran-backed Houthis have regularly launched missiles at Israel in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and attacked commercial ships in the Red Sea. The Israeli Air Force stated that the latest strikes on Yemen’s ports were in response to "repeated attacks" by the Houthis on Israel and its citizens.
It added that the targeted ports were being used to "transfer weapons from the Iranian regime to carry out terror plans" against Israel and its allies.
