Israeli air force destroys drone before it reaches border

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said the country’s Air Force successfully intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle before it crossed into Israeli territory.

A suspicious aerial target was also detected near Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon, after which contact with the object was lost, Caliber.Az reports, citing the IDF.

“Alarm sirens were activated in accordance with established policy. The incident has concluded,” the military said.

In a later statement, the IDF added that recently, a remotely piloted aircraft operated by the IDF was shot down in southern Lebanon, following the launch of a short-range anti-aircraft missile by the terrorist organisation Hezbollah.
