Israeli airline El Al office in Paris vandalised: Staff evacuated PHOTO

07 August 2025 16:10

The Paris offices of Israeli national airline El Al were vandalised overnight on August 7 with red paint and graffiti featuring pro-Palestinian slogans and messages critical of Israel, according to statements from Israeli officials and the airline.

Images circulating online showed the front of the offices covered in red paint, with slogans such as “Free Palestine” written in multiple languages. The phrase “El Al genocide airline” was also spray-painted on the property, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.

El Al confirmed the incident occurred while the office was unoccupied, and no staff members were in danger. The airline described the act as “severe” and said it is cooperating with local authorities in the investigation.

“El Al proudly flies the Israeli flag on the tails of its planes, and condemns any type of violence, particularly like these with an antisemitic background,” the airline said in a statement.

Following the attack, El Al decided to evacuate all its personnel from Paris. Another foreign company has been appointed to provide services to customers at the terminal.

Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev responded to the incident on X, calling it a “barbaric and violent act” and attributing it to French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent announcement that France will recognise a Palestinian state next month. She urged that those responsible be prosecuted.

“French citizens wake up,” she added. “Today it’s El Al tomorrow it’s Air France.”

The Israeli embassy in France also shared images of the vandalism, blaming “a climate of violent and unrestrained incitement by certain French elected officials,” though no specific individuals were named.
