Israeli army announces elimination of senior Hamas member

The Israeli military killed one of the commanders of a special unit of the Palestinian radical group Hamas.

“According to intelligence reports from the Israel Defense Forces and the General Security Service, IDF fighters killed in the [Gaza] Strip Bilal Al-Kedra, the commander of one of the companies of the Hamas Nukhba special forces, who led a terrorist attack on the border kibbutz Nirim,” the report said.

The IDF also reported that during the airstrike, “other militants of Hamas and the radical Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement were eliminated.”

“The IDF also targeted Hamas operational command centres, military formations, launch sites, anti-tank missile launch sites and observation posts located in Zaytoun, Jabaliya and Khan Yunis. In addition, strikes were carried out on operational command centres belonging to the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad, the army press service said in a statement.

Previously, the IDF reported the elimination of the commander of one of the companies of the Hamas special forces Nukhba, Ali Qadi, who led the terrorist attack on Israeli settlements near the Gaza Strip last weekend.

Israel on October 15 will open a humanitarian corridor for several hours in the Gaza Strip so that civilians can leave for the southern parts of the enclave, according to The Jerusalem Post.

According to the IDF, the humanitarian corridor will open at 10:00 and will remain open until 13:00 local time.
