Media: Israel contemplates military action against Iran amidst renewed nuclear talks
Israel is reportedly considering military action against Iran in the coming days, three sources familiar with the matter confirmed.
While details remain scarce, the sources indicated that the United States may not have a direct role in any imminent Israeli strike, though logistical support and intelligence sharing could be part of the cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The potential escalation comes as the US prepares for a new round of nuclear negotiations with Iranian officials this weekend. Senior Advisor and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is scheduled to travel to Muscat on June 15 for the sixth round of talks with Iran. According to a source familiar with his plans, "Discussions are expected to be both direct and indirect, as in previous rounds."
Tensions in the region remain high, especially amid Iran’s steadfast commitment to its nuclear program. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed the country’s determination to continue uranium enrichment, asserting that any destruction of nuclear facilities would be met with reconstruction efforts. In a statement delivered in Ilam, a western Iranian province, Pezeshkian declared, "We will go our own way, and we will have the enrichment."
He further emphasized Iran’s resilience, saying, "We will build this country with these very young people. It's not like if, for example, someone bombs our place, that's the end of it. All this is in mind. Whatever they do, we will rebuild."
