Zelenskyy: Iranian regime trying to drag entire region into war
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has sharply criticized the Iranian regime, accusing it of attempting to drag the entire Middle East into conflict and destroy lives.
“The Iranian regime is trying to drag the entire region into war and is destroying lives. This can only be condemned,” Zelenskyy wrote on X.
“We stand in solidarity with all those who defend life and seek to compel the Iranian regime to abandon its long-standing violence as soon as possible.”
The Ukrainian leader said he exchanged assessments with allies on the current threats, emphasizing the need for continued coordination.
“We agreed that our teams will remain in contact to determine how we can jointly provide greater protection to people,” he said.
Zelenskyy also linked Iran’s regional actions to its support for Russia in Ukraine. “For decades, the Iranian regime has invested in destroying the lives of its neighbors and others wherever it could reach. It was on that very foundation that they became accomplices of Russia in the war against Ukraine,” he said.
He concluded with a call for moral and practical support for defenders of life. “It is essential that those who defend life prevail in this confrontation,” Zelenskyy wrote.
