03 March 2026 09:01
A drone attacked the King Fahd Causeway linking Bahrain and Saudi Arabia over the Persian Gulf, according to Iranian news agencies Mehr and IRNA.
The King Fahd Causeway connects the city of Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia with Bahrain. Named after King Fahd ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, the bridge carries a four-lane highway spanning over 25 kilometres.
Earlier, Bahrain was targeted in an Iranian strike aimed at the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama. According to IRIB, the facility was completely destroyed, and several other buildings were damaged.
Following the attacks, the US State Department urged Americans to urgently leave Middle Eastern countries, including Bahrain.
