Trump: US has “literally unlimited” weapons
President Donald Trump declared that the United States has “literally unlimited” weapons stockpiled as Washington and Tehran face potential prolonged military confrontation.
Speaking to RealClearPolitics, Trump dismissed concerns that a sustained operation could strain U.S. munitions supplies, particularly advanced air-defence systems such as the MIM-104 Patriot and THAAD.
“No, we have a lot of a tremendous amount of backlog for our medium and higher, higher than medium, much higher than medium, weapons,” Trump said when asked about the weapons supply. “We have unlimited – literally unlimited.”
Trump has previously indicated that any military operation could last weeks — a timeline some experts warn could deplete U.S. stockpiles of interceptor missiles and require additional resupply funding from Congress.
Despite those concerns, the president insisted that American forces remain well prepared.
“They don’t have it,” he said of anti-air munitions. “You know Iran has no air defense whatsoever, you know that right? You will see that shortly.”
Iran’s drone arsenal has been viewed as a key component of its regional military strategy, raising questions among defence analysts about the sustainability of missile defence systems in an extended conflict.
“We have a lot,” Trump concluded. “We are stockpiled very well.”
