Montenegro parliament votes to send troops to EU-led mission supporting Ukraine
Montenegro’s Parliament has approved the deployment of its armed forces to the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Support of Ukraine (EUMAM UA).
The decision was adopted during today’s (June 12) session, where the debate concluded ahead of schedule, resulting in a straightforward vote, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
A total of 49 Members of Parliament (MPs) voted in favour, while three abstained.
Notably, three of the four MPs from the Democratic People’s Party abstained from the vote.
Meanwhile, the motion received support from a broad coalition: 18 of 20 MPs from the Europe Now Movement, six of nine from New Serbian Democracy, all seven from the Democrats, five of six from the Bosniak Party, one of two from the Socialist People’s Party, the MP from the Citizens’ Alliance “CIVIS” Maja Vučelić, one of two from the Albanian Forum, five of 17 from the Democratic Party of Socialists, all three from the Social Democrats, as well as Croatian Civic Initiative MP Adriajn Vukanović and independent MP Radinka Ćinćur.
