Air India flight makes emergency landing in Phuket after bomb threat
An Air India Airbus A320 was forced to make an emergency landing in Phuket, Thailand, following a bomb threat onboard, according to a report by Reuters citing the airport's press service.
The aircraft, which had taken off from Phuket and was en route to Delhi, India, had to turn back shortly after departure when the flight crew received a bomb threat. Responding immediately, the pilots requested permission for an emergency landing.
The plane landed safely at Phuket International Airport, where it was met by security personnel. Authorities conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft on the ground.
As of now, officials have not confirmed whether any dangerous materials or explosives were found on board. It also remains unclear where the warning or signal about a potential explosion originated. The investigation into the source of the threat is ongoing.
