Lithuania’s Litgrid to provide €160,000 in energy aid to Ukraine
Lithuania’s electricity transmission system operator Litgrid will provide humanitarian assistance worth about €160,000 to support the energy sector of Ukraine, according to a report by Delfi.
The company announced on Friday, March 13, through the Nasdaq Vilnius, that it intends to approve a February decision by its board of directors regarding the signing of agreements to deliver humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian entities.
According to Litgrid, the aid is intended to help restore Ukrainian energy infrastructure damaged during the war.
“The purpose of the humanitarian assistance is to restore Ukrainian energy facilities damaged by the war,” the company said.
Litgrid added that the agreement will be concluded with Ukrainian organisations that meet legal requirements governing cooperation in development and humanitarian assistance, as well as other applicable regulations.
The equipment to be provided to Ukraine will include gas circuit breakers, insulators, transformers, transmission towers, and line fittings.
