Israeli army eliminates two militants near Gaza frontier
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have neutralised two militants who crossed the yellow line in the Gaza Strip.
“In two separate incidents earlier today (Wednesday) in the central Gaza Strip, two terrorists were identified crossing the yellow line and approaching IDF troops operating in the northern Gaza Strip in a manner that posed a threat to them,” Caliber.Az quotes the IDF press service as saying on Telegram.
The IDF said its forces eliminated the terrorists after detecting them to remove the threat.
“IDF troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat,” the statement read.
The so-called “yellow line” in the Gaza Strip refers to a demarcation established under the October 2025 cease-fire agreement, marking the boundary to which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) agreed to withdraw.
The IDF says it retains operational control of the territory east of this line and treats crossing it without prior coordination as a security violation.
Incidents of militants or civilians entering zones east of the line have resulted in deadly engagements, highlighting both the fragility of the truce and the danger inherent in the unclear status of the boundary.
