Israeli army kills international assistant football referee, his family
International assistant football referee Mohamed Khattab along with his family have been killed after an Israeli air force strike on their house in Deir al-Balah.
Khattab was an international football referee, according to Al Jazeera.
According to the sources in Gaza, Mohamed Khattab died along with his wife and four children.
Mohamed Khattab was a football referee accredited by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the International Football Federation (FIFA). He worked as a referee at the Asian and Arab championships in 2020. Later, he was unable to leave the Gaza Strip.
There is no information about Khattab’s obvious involvement in terrorist activity.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and Israel Security Agency do not comment on Arab media reports about Khattab’s death.
