Israeli army neutralizes Hamas commander in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) have neutralized Hamas militant Muhammad al-‘Ajlah in the Gaza Strip.
He was the successor to the previous commander of Hamas's Shejaiya battalion, Haitham Rizq Abd al-Karim Sheikh Khalil, who was killed last week, Caliber.Az reports, citing the IDF's Telegram post.
Throughout the war, al-‘Ajlah served as the commander of a combat support company within the Shejaiya battalion and was responsible for supplying weapons to the battalion’s militants for attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.
Al-‘Ajlah is the fifth commander of the Shejaiya battalion to be eliminated since the beginning of the war.
Haitham Rizq Abd al-Karim Sheikh Khalil was previously eliminated in a separate strike. He was responsible for the infiltration into Nir Oz and orchestrated attacks against IDF troops.
