Israeli army says troops dismantled two-kilometre tunnel in southern Gaza VIDEO

The Israeli military said its forces have dismantled an underground tunnel approximately two kilometres long during operations in southern Gaza.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said troops operating under the Southern Command carried out the operation in an area known as the Yellow Line, where they are deployed under the terms of the ceasefire agreement, Caliber.Az reports. 

The military said its forces continue to conduct operations aimed at removing what it described as security threats and dismantling infrastructure used by armed groups.

The IDF released footage and images that it said showed the tunnel being destroyed. The military did not provide further details about the tunnel’s location or when the operation took place.

The Israeli military said troops would continue operations in the Yellow Line area in accordance with the ceasefire framework.
