Israeli army targets Hezbollah air defence unit

26 October 2024 17:45

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently eliminated a group of terrorists associated with Hezbollah's air defence unit and conducted an attack on a facility linked to weapons production and Hezbollah's operational headquarters in Dahiya.

A statement from the army's press service says that, these targets were situated in civilian buildings within densely populated areas, highlighting Hezbollah's practice of using Lebanese citizens as human shields, Caliber.Az reports.

In related developments, Hezbollah, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, executed a series of operations targeting various Israeli military positions, causing substantial losses and damage. The fighters have been active on multiple fronts, launching rocket barrages deep into occupied territories and engaging Israeli forces along the border.

On October 25, as part of its Khaybar operations and under the call "Labbayk ya Nasrallah," Hezbollah announced its targeting of the Karmiel military base south of Haifa with advanced rocket fire. They also deployed one-way assault drones against the al-Baghdadi military site, achieving direct hits.

In several operations, Hezbollah bombarded Israeli soldiers at Manara, Malikiyah, and Habushit military sites. A group of Israeli soldiers near Marwahin was hit by guided missiles, resulting in confirmed casualties, while an Israeli Merkava tank was destroyed, causing fatalities among its crew.

In Safad, air defense intercepted a Hermes 450 drone. Soon after, a guided missile struck a Merkava tank near Misgav Am, resulting in crew casualties. Additional strikes targeted Merkava tanks along the Marjayoun-Odaisseh road. Resistance drones targeted the Filon base, inflicting significant damage, while advancing Israeli forces toward Houla faced ambushes, leading to further losses.

Hezbollah announced that it had carried out 48 combat attacks against the IDF.

The Hezbollah fighters also targeted another grouping of Israeli forces on the outskirts of Houla with a salvo, which was followed by successive operations that targeted numerous Israeli settlements in the north, including Metula, Hatsor, Beit Hillel, Manara, and Katzrin.

The operations came in defense of the people of Lebanon and their land, in support of Gaza and its resilient Resistance, and in response to the Israeli aggression targeting homes, villages, and civilians across Lebanon.
