Israeli citizens assault IDF soldiers near Kafr Malik, six detained

In the early hours of Saturday, June 28, a group of Israeli citizens clashed with Israel Defence Forces (IDF) personnel near Kafr Malik after being caught attempting to enter a restricted military zone.

According to a statement by the army press service, IDF troops identified a vehicle heading toward a closed military area and moved in to intercept it. Upon arrival, the soldiers were met with violent resistance.

The suspects began hurling stones at the soldiers and at the battalion commander, while shouting insults. They also attempted to ram the security forces with their vehicle, damaging an army jeep in the process.

Faced with escalating aggression, the troops employed crowd control measures to disperse the group. Six individuals were subsequently detained and handed over to the Israeli police for further investigation.

The military did not specify the motives of the individuals involved but noted that the situation is being reviewed.
