Israeli drone takes top honors at European military robotics competition
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has announced that its REX MK II unmanned land vehicle system has clinched the Best Scientific Solution award at the prestigious European Land Robot Trial (ELROB).
Organized by the German Armed Forces, ELROB challenges participants with complex scenarios to test the limits of autonomous military technology, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The REX MK II, developed in collaboration with Germany's FFG, is a versatile unmanned land vehicle designed to enhance ground operations while reducing risks to human personnel. With a capacity of up to 1.3 tons, the REX MK II excels in logistical support, intelligence gathering, and command and control operations, all managed by a single operator via wireless communication.
ELROB is a renowned event that showcases the latest advancements in unmanned ground systems from top defence and robotics companies. Competitors navigate intricate environments and tackle various military tasks devised by the German Armed Forces.
IAI highlighted the REX MK II's exceptional performance in the competition, noting its effectiveness in supporting infantry by transporting supplies, evacuating injured personnel, and providing critical intelligence through its integrated electro-optical sensors and radar systems.
