Israeli FM: Attacks from Lebanon exceed strikes from Iran

Over the past week, Israel has faced more attacks from Lebanese territory than from Iran, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said.

Saar discussed the issue with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Janine Hennis-Plasschaert in Jerusalem, outlining Israel’s response to the Iran-backed group Hezbollah, which has been conducting attacks from Lebanon, Caliber.Az reports via CNN.

“I emphasised that the deployment of (Israel Defence Forces) troops in the border area is critical for preventing an invasion of Hezbollah’s ground forces and attacks against Israeli citizens and communities,” he said. “I stressed that weakening Hezbollah is a mutual interest of both Israel and Lebanon.”
