Israeli forces detain two suspects in Jenin counter-terror operation VIDEO
Israeli security forces have detained two individuals during an operation in the northern West Bank, according to a statement from the military.
The operation, carried out in the Jenin and al-Yamun areas under the direction of Israel’s internal security service Shin Bet, took place on Thursday (June 4) and involved forces operating in coordination with the Israel Defence Forces.
In its statement, the military said the two detainees were suspected of involvement in planning attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.
It added that one of the individuals was previously linked to a local militant cell in Jenin, which had been targeted during a prior operation referred to as “Iron Wall.”
According to the statement, intelligence assessments indicated that the suspect had also been involved in fundraising activities intended to support further militant operations.
The detainees were transferred to security authorities for further questioning. No additional details were immediately provided regarding charges or legal proceedings.
