Israeli forces discover rocket launcher, arms cache in Gaza buffer zone VIDEO
During ongoing security operations in the Gaza Strip buffer zone, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) located an eight-tube rocket launcher loaded with four rockets, reportedly aimed at Israeli territory.
The discovery was made by Kfir Brigade forces operating in the area of the Yellow Line, in line with the ceasefire agreement and directives from Israel’s political leadership, says a statement by the IDF, Caliber.Az reports.
According to a statement, the operation’s objectives include securing the area, dismantling infrastructure used by terrorist organizations, and neutralizing threats to both IDF personnel and Israeli civilians.
In addition to the rocket launcher, soldiers uncovered a significant cache of weapons and military equipment, including Kalashnikov rifles, fragmentation grenades, explosives, ammunition, and military uniforms.
“The IDF forces under the Southern Command will continue operating to clear the area, remove any immediate threats to the forces, and destroy terrorist infrastructure that could pose a danger to the forces, the residents of the Western Negev, and the citizens of Israel,” the statement noted.
The IDF emphasized that such operations are part of ongoing efforts to prevent attacks and maintain security along the sensitive border region.
