Israeli forces eliminate Hezbollah militant in southern Lebanon operation PHOTO

Israeli forces have killed a Hezbollah militant during a targeted ground operation in southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.

According to the IDF press service, soldiers from the 162nd Division engaged in a face-to-face encounter with the militant during the operation, which was carried out as part of efforts to strengthen Israel’s forward defensive posture.

“Earlier today (Thursday), IDF soldiers of the 162nd Division eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist in a face-to-face encounter during a targeted ground operation in southern Lebanon conducted as part of the effort to enhance the forward defensive posture,” the statement said.

The military added that two Israeli soldiers were lightly wounded during the exchange of fire and were evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment. Their families have been notified.

Following the clash, troops conducted a sweep of the area and discovered a cache of weapons, including rifles, vests, grenades, and other equipment.

“The IDF will continue to operate decisively against the Hezbollah terrorist organization after it chose to join the attack on Israel and operate under the auspices of the Iranian regime,” the statement added.
