Israeli forces face resistance in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah says
Hezbollah has claimed that its fighters engaged Israeli ground forces in southern Lebanon as the troops attempted to advance from the town of Taybeh toward the Baydar al-Fuqani area, according to Al Jazeera.
The group said Israeli forces deployed several helicopters to evacuate wounded personnel amid what it described as intense fire and the use of smoke screens during the clashes.
In addition to the ground engagement, Hezbollah reported carrying out three separate rocket strikes targeting the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona. It also said it attacked Israeli forces in multiple locations along the border area, including Khirbet al-Manara, opposite the town of Houla, and near Misgav Am, across from Odaisseh.
The developments follow earlier reports that Hezbollah had used missiles to destroy six Israeli Merkava tanks.
