Israeli forces kill senior Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had carried out an airstrike on July 26 targeting a senior Hezbollah figure in southern Lebanon.

According to the IDF, the strike killed Ali Abd al-Qader Ismail, a commander operating in Hezbollah’s Bint Jbeil sector. The military said Ismail had been involved in efforts to rebuild Hezbollah’s presence in the area, Caliber.Az reports via IDF statement. 

The IDF stated that his actions were in violation of existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon and stressed that it would continue to act against any perceived threats to Israeli security.

There has been no immediate confirmation or response from Hezbollah regarding the incident.
