Israeli forces nab key terror aide in Jenin operation
In a coordinated operation, the Israeli Security Agency, Yamam, and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) apprehended Mohammed Zidan in Jenin. Zidan is identified as an associate of the terrorist responsible for the January 6, 2025, shooting attack in Al-Funduq, which claimed the lives of three Israeli civilians and left eight others injured.
The arrest was confirmed in a joint statement from the IDF and Israeli police on the IDF’s official Telegram channel, emphasizing ongoing counterterrorism efforts in the region, Caliber.Az reports.
“Yesterday (Thursday), guided by the ISA, Yamam and soldiers operated in Jenin and apprehended the terrorist Mohammed Zidan, an aide to the terrorist who carried out the shooting attack in Al-Funduq on January 6, 2025, in which three Israeli civilians were murdered and eight more were injured,” the statement read.
The security forces noted that Zidan was formerly a senior figure in the Jenin-based terrorist network, actively involved in financing terror cells and facilitating terrorist activity against the State of Israel.
“The security forces will continue to operate proactively to thwart terrorism throughout Judea and Samaria,” the statement added, reaffirming Israel’s commitment to preventing attacks and dismantling militant networks in the area.
