Israeli forces seize 26 pistols in eastern border smuggling bust PHOTO
Israeli security forces said they have foiled an attempt to smuggle 26 pistols across the country’s eastern border during a coordinated operation overnight.
According to a joint statement from the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and Israel Police, troops from the Jordan Valley and the Valleys Brigade, alongside Border Police fighters from the Magav Yehuda and Samaria unit and personnel from the Jordan Border Unit, carried out searches near the eastern border fence under the direction of observation units.

During the operation, forces located a bag containing 26 pistols and ammunition magazines in the area. The weapons were seized and transferred to the Judea and Samaria District Police for further investigation and processing.
Authorities did not immediately provide details on those allegedly involved in the attempted smuggling or whether any arrests were made during the operation.
Security forces said they remain deployed along the eastern border region, which they described as part of ongoing efforts to prevent illegal arms trafficking and maintain public security.
