Israeli media: Trump may announce ceasefire by March 28
US President Donald Trump could announce a ceasefire as early as March 28, according to a report by N12, as Israel prepares for the possibility of a sudden pause in hostilities.
Israeli officials believe such an announcement may come even in the absence of final and binding agreements between Washington and Tehran, prompting urgent planning at the highest levels of government.
In anticipation of this scenario, Israel’s senior political and defence leadership has approved a strategy aimed at maximising the outcomes achieved during the ongoing war. During a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, officials agreed to prioritise a list of key objectives that Israel seeks to accomplish before the United States effectively “hits the brakes” on the conflict.
Under the plan, if a ceasefire is indeed announced in the coming days, Israel intends to complete as many of these priority objectives as possible within the remaining window. If no such move materialises and the war continues, the same sequence of goals will be pursued in stages, with additional objectives defined as the situation evolves.
