Israeli military carries out strikes on Hezbollah sites in Lebanon
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said it carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah military infrastructure in several areas across Lebanon.
According to an IDF statement, the strikes targeted a military compound allegedly used by Hezbollah for training activities, weapons storage and the launching of artillery fire. The IDF said the compound was used to conduct training courses, including shooting exercises and instruction on the use of various weapons for planning and carrying out attacks against Israeli troops and civilians, Caliber.Az reports.
The IDF also reported additional strikes on what it described as Hezbollah military structures in different locations in Lebanon, which it said were used to store weapons and had remained operational in recent weeks.
In its statement, the Israeli military said the presence of such infrastructure and Hezbollah’s activities constituted a violation of existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon and posed a threat to Israel’s security.
The IDF said it would continue operations aimed at removing threats to Israel and preventing Hezbollah’s reestablishment.
