Israeli military says it struck Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon

The Israeli military has said it carried out strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure across southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours following an incident that killed two Israeli reservists and seriously wounded four soldiers.

In a post on Telegram, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) noted that the strikes were launched in response to Wednesday's explosion near Majdal Zoun, in which Major (Res.) Harel Birenstock and Sergeant Major (Res.) Tamir Vaknin were killed, Caliber.Az reports.

According to the IDF, the targets included ammunition depots, a command post and other Hezbollah infrastructure.

"IDF soldiers remain deployed in the Security Zone in southern Lebanon in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove threats to Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers," the military added.
