Israeli military strikes Houthi targets at Hudaydah port
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on July 21 that it had carried out airstrikes targeting what it described as military infrastructure used by Yemen’s Houthi movement at the Hudaydah port.
According to the IDF, the strikes targeted engineering equipment, fuel containers, and naval vessels that were allegedly being used by the Houthis to support military operations in the Red Sea region. The military also said it had struck infrastructure believed to be involved in the transfer of weapons from Iran to Houthi forces, Caliber.Az reports, citing IDF statement.
The Israeli military stated that the port had been used to reestablish military capabilities and facilitate attacks on Israeli and international maritime interests. The statement accused the Houthis of using civilian infrastructure to support armed activities.
There has been no immediate comment from Houthi officials or independent verification of the extent of the damage or casualties resulting from the strike.
The attack comes amid ongoing tensions in the Red Sea, where Houthi forces have targeted commercial vessels in a response to Israeli military operations in Gaza.
