Israeli military targets, eliminates senior Hamas leader in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Izz al-Din Kassab, a member of Hamas' political bureau and the head of its inter-faction relations and coordination, was killed in an airstrike on November 1.
The operation took place in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, and was executed based on intelligence from both the IDF and the Israel Security Agency, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
According to the statement, Kassab was a key figure within Hamas, responsible for the organization's strategic and military connections with other factions in the region. He had the authority to oversee terrorist operations against Israel. The statement noted that Kassab was among the last high-ranking officials of Hamas's political bureau still active in Gaza, and his assistant, Ayman Ayesh, was also killed in the strike.
Hamas has yet to confirm Kassab's death.
