Israeli PM commends rescue of lost American pilot

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the successful recovery of the US airman whose F-15 jet was downed over Iran, according to CNN.

“This rescue operation reinforces the sacred principle: no one is left behind,” Netanyahu said in a video statement, directly addressing and congratulating US President Donald Trump.

“This is a shared value demonstrated time and time again in the history of both our countries,” he added. “As a nation that repeatedly carried out daring rescue operations, and as someone who was wounded in such a mission and lost a brother in the Entebbe rescue, Israelis and I, we know what a bold decision you took.”

Earlier, Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz highlighted that the mission showcased his country’s “close cooperation” with the US.
