Israeli PM's son slams French leader over Palestinian statehood remarks
Israeli Prime Minister's son, Yair Netanyahu, has sharply responded to French President Emmanuel Macron's statements about the possible recognition of a Palestinian state.
“Screw you! Yes to independence of New Caledonia! Yes to independence to French Polynesia! Yes to independence of Corsica! Yes to independence of the Basque Country! Yes to independence of French Guinea! Stop the neo imperialism of France in west Africa!” Caliber.Az report, citing Yair Netanyahu’s message on X.
In his post, Yair Netanyahu also criticized France for supporting the independence of various regions and territories, such as New Caledonia and Corsica. He went on to accuse France of "collaborating with evil" since 1940, attaching photos of President Emmanuel Macron shaking hands with Iranian ex-President Hassan Rouhani, alongside a historic image of Adolf Hitler meeting with French Prime Minister Philippe Pétain.
On April 9, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Paris plans to recognize the State of Palestine in the coming months. The move is expected to take place in June during a UN conference on Middle East peace in New York.
