Israeli PM to meet Pete Hegseth as Iran war tops agenda

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth as part of his visit to the United States.

Earlier, he met with US Vice President JD Vance, with Israeli sources describing the talks as positive, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ynet.

The war with Iran tops Netanyahu's agenda during the visit. However, Israel's conflict with Iran has exposed growing differences between Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump.

In the United States, the war with Iran remains deeply unpopular, increasing pressure on Trump to secure a deal with Tehran that would bring the conflict to an end.

Netanyahu, by contrast, could stand to benefit politically at home if the fighting continues.
