Israeli police arrest senior member of Abu Latif criminal organisation
Israeli police have detained a senior member of the criminal organisation “Abu Latif,” Bashar Machul, 43, who had been hiding in a safe house in Had Nes, the police press service announced.
About two weeks ago, officers from the border unit of the Central Command’s Northern District raided a property in Had Nes on the Golan Heights, where one of the gang’s leaders had been in hiding since the open phase of “The Prince” investigation began, Caliber.Az reports.
During the operation, suspect Bashar Machul was located. A search of the apartment uncovered a copy of the indictment in “The Prince” case, indicating that the suspect had been closely monitoring court proceedings against the organisation’s members while on the run.
Following the conclusion of the Northern District Central Unit’s investigation, the State Prosecutor will present the indictment against Machul at Haifa District Court on multiple charges, including extortion with threats.
