Israeli president praises Trump's “uniquely bold” decision to attack Iran
Israeli President Isaac Herzog praised US President Donald Trump for his “uniquely bold” decision to strike Iran in an interview with CBS.
When asked whether the decision was Trump’s alone, Herzog said that Israel does not dictate policy to Trump and did not “drag America into a war,” Caliber.Az reports.
Herzog described coordination between the US and Israel as “extremely close,” but declined to provide details, noting that he “is not in the operations center.” As Israel’s president, he primarily performs ceremonial duties and does not participate in operational decision-making.
He acknowledged that “it is not a popular war in America.”
“[...] Usually people do not know the intricacies of the war, and they also compare it to previous and other wars,” he said.
“It’s a unique war. It’s a focused war. It is a war that comes in a time where you can really bring real change in the Middle East for the future,” Herzog said.
