Israeli strike near Beirut kills Iranian division commander

The Israel Defence Forces said it had killed Hassan Ali Marwan, a commander of the Imam Hussein Division within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force.

In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the IDF said the strike was carried out on March 17 in Lebanon, in the area of Beirut.

According to the Israeli military, Marwan was targeted as part of the operation. There has been no official confirmation from Iran regarding his death.

The IDF added that Marwan’s predecessor in the role had been killed one week earlier.
