Israeli troops launch intensive offensive in Khan Younis Urban combat unfolds
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have initiated a significant offensive in the western region of Khan Younis, marked by intense urban combat.
In a recent development reported by Caliber.Az, citing information from the IDF Spokesperson's Office, the military successfully neutralized militants responsible for firing rockets at Hatzerim and Be'eri settlements on March 3. Impressively, IDF soldiers acted swiftly, eliminating the threat within 30 minutes of the rocket launch.
Over the past 24 hours, a notable 15 terrorists were eliminated through a combination of precise sniper fire, tank manoeuvres, and strategic aerial operations. The IDF has strategically surrounded the Hamad area, with ongoing raids and specialized commando units actively engaging terrorist targets, effectively neutralizing militant forces.
Furthermore, amidst the military actions, the IDF has demonstrated a commitment to humanitarian efforts. Soldiers have coordinated the evacuation of civilians from the combat zone, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding non-combatants in the midst of conflict.
Concurrently, the IDF has successfully arrested approximately 80 terrorist suspects, including individuals affiliated with Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Notably, these suspects were attempting to exploit the civilian environment as a cover for their activities, underscoring the challenges faced in distinguishing combatants from non-combatants in the complex urban setting.
