“Trump is holding a call now with Ukrainian President Zelensky and several European leaders ahead of his summit with Putin on Friday,” the post reads.
However, Ravid did not provide specific details regarding the nature, content, or participants of the ongoing talks.
A video conference among US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the leaders of Germany, Finland, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland and the European Union is underway.
NATO’s secretary-general will also attend the video conference hosted by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Ukraine hopes the meeting will serve as a European counterweight to the summit in Alaska, to which Kyiv is not invited.
Russia continues to make battlefield gains, with its Defence Ministry reporting that it struck Ukrainian positions in 136 districts and inflicted more than 1,300 Ukrainian military casualties in the past day.
