Trump announces upcoming talks with European leaders on Ukraine peace efforts

US President Donald Trump has revealed plans to engage in imminent discussions with European leaders, aimed at advancing a potential resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Trump made the announcement on his social media platform, Truth Social, where he indicated that several European counterparts have expressed a strong interest in brokering a peace agreement, Caliber.Az reports.

“Will be speaking to European leaders in a short while. They are great people who want to see a deal done,” Trump posted.

To recall, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine has arrived in Berlin to join Friedrich Merz, the German chancellor, in person for a video call between European leaders and President Trump, ahead of Trump’s meeting with President Vladimir Putin of Russia on August 15 in Alaska.

Zelenskyy and Merz are first expected to convene a call with European leaders, before Trump and Vice President JD Vance join later.
