ISW: Russian forces conduct unsuccessful attacks in Ukraine
Russian forces continued ground attacks near Bakhmut on September 25 but did not make any confirmed advances.
“Several Russian military bloggers claimed on September 24 and 25 that Russian forces pushed Ukrainian forces from their positions in Orikhovo-Vasylivka and that Russian forces now control the settlement. One Russian military blogger acknowledged that there is no visual confirmation of these claims,” Caliber.Az reports, citing the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful attacks near Klishchiivka and east and southeast of Bohdanivka (7km northwest of Bakhmut).
The General Staff also said that Russian forces conducted unsuccessful attacks near Avdiivka and Marinka (on the western outskirt of Donetsk City) and unsuccessfully attempted to recapture lost positions near Novomykhailivka (36km southwest of Avdiivka).
On September 25, Ukrainian forces conducted offensive operations in the western Donetsk-eastern Zaporizhia Oblast border area but did not advance.
In addition, Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian forces also continued to conduct operations on islands in the Dnipro River on September 25.
