Italian PM highlights key role of India, China in resolving Ukraine crisis
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has stated that both India and China hold significant potential in contributing to the resolution of the ongoing Ukrainian crisis.
During discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Meloni emphasized that these Asian powers could be instrumental in facilitating a peaceful resolution to the conflict, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
While advocating for diplomatic efforts, Meloni stressed that this involvement should not result in Ukraine being abandoned.
She reassured that Italy remains steadfast in its support for Ukraine, including providing necessary military aid to bolster Kyiv's defence capabilities.
Moreover, the Italian leader urged caution and balance, reiterating that the long-term goal should be a diplomatic solution that upholds Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Italian government has consistently supported Ukraine throughout the conflict, and Meloni's remarks further underline Italy's commitment to seeking a resolution while recognizing the influential role that global powers like India and China could play in future negotiations.
