Italy’s defence minister urges Trump to seek “more resolute advisers”
Italy’s Defence Minister Guido Crosetto warned that the conflict in Iran threatens U.S. global leadership and could destabilise the Middle East.
Talking to Corriere della Sera, he said US President Donald Trump acts to win as quickly as possible, including with midterm elections in mind, Caliber.Az reports.
“This war [in Iran] threatens US global leadership,” Crosetto noted.
The minister suggested that Trump may not face opposition internally but would benefit from having “more resolute advisers.”
“I fear that an already dramatic situation could worsen further. Humanity has shown there are no limits to madness,” he stressed.
The defence chief made it clear that people like them decided to end the conflict by allowing the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
“We still possess nuclear weapons, while those who do not seek to acquire them. We have learned nothing,” Crosetto added.
