Italy’s PM warns against Iran developing nuclear-armed missiles

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni warned on March 11 that Iran must not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons alongside missile capabilities capable of reaching Europe.

“We cannot allow the Ayatollah regime to possess nuclear weapons, combined with a missile capability that could soon be able to strike Italy and Europe directly,” Meloni told the Italian Senate, Iran International reports.

She cautioned that such a development could spark a nuclear arms race, emphasising the potential threat to European security.
