Jackie Chan’s "Armour of God: Ultimatum" continues production in Baku PHOTO
The international production team behind Armour of God: Ultimatum, the fourth instalment in the popular action-adventure franchise, has begun the next stage of filming in Baku, the Azerbaijan Cinema Agency said.
The film stars Jackie Chan, who returns as Asian Hawk, the adventurer at the centre of the series. The new instalment follows his latest mission to find the ancient Tumar artefact, with a reward of more than $20 million offered for its recovery, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Production is taking place simultaneously in several countries and brings together actors and film professionals from around the world. For the first time, film crews from Kazakhstan and China are collaborating on the project.
Baku was selected as one of the filming locations because the story is set around the Caspian Sea. Several key scenes will be filmed at locations across the Azerbaijani capital.
The production is also notable for Chan, marking the actor’s first time filming in Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and the Azerbaijan Cinema Agency are supporting the production team’s work in the country. More than 100 local film-industry professionals are involved in the project.
Filming in Azerbaijan is expected to continue through autumn 2026, with the film scheduled for release in 2027.
