Japanese airline to sharply raise fuel surcharges from May Because of the Middle East crisis
20 April 2026 11:45
On April 20, Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) said it will significantly increase its international fuel surcharge from May ticket issuance, citing a sharp rise in fuel prices driven by worsening Middle East tensions.
The airline stated that the adjustment reflects the recent surge in aviation fuel costs, which have been pushed higher by geopolitical instability in key oil-producing regions, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Fuel surcharges on international flights are reviewed periodically and adjusted in line with benchmark fuel prices.
ANA did not immediately provide detailed new surcharge levels by route, but confirmed the increase would take effect from May ticket sales.
