JD Vance welcomes fourth son, marking rare first for sitting US vice president

US Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, have announced the birth of their fourth son, Alec Neel Vance.

Vance shared the news in a post on X, introducing the newest member of the family, Caliber.Az reports.

“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.

The incredible military doctors and staff members of Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit have been a blessing.

We are deeply thankful for all they have done for our family,” the post read.

The birth marks the first known instance in modern US history of a child being born to the nation's second family while a vice president is serving in office.
