Jordan evacuates airport, seaport in Aqaba amid credible security threat

Jordanian authorities have evacuated the international airport and seaport in the city of Aqaba following a security threat.

“Due to a specific and credible threat, Jordanian authorities evacuated the international airport and seaport in Aqaba. We strongly advise all Americans to refrain traveling to either the airport or seaport. Continue to follow all Jordanian authorities’ security directive,” the US Embassy in Jordan said in a statement posted on X.

The embassy also warned US citizens against travelling to military bases in the region.
