Jordan to buy Lockheed Martin F-16 fighters from US

Jordan has placed an order for eight new F-16 Block 70 fighters from Lockheed Martin.

The Royal Jordanian Air Force has a big fleet consisting of 44 F-16 fighters, namely, F-16A fighters and 15 F-16B trainers, which Jordan has been gradually acquiring since 1997, Russia's Gazeta.ru reports.

The Block 70/72 "Viper" standard is the latest version of the Lockheed Martin fighter. It features improved connectivity and an APG-83 SABR AESA radar system.
