JP: Israel urging US to join ongoing operation against Iran

Israel is actively seeking to persuade the United States to join its continuing military operations targeting Iranian nuclear facilities and military sites, according to sources cited by The Jerusalem Post.

The Israeli Air Force has already carried out multiple strikes inside Iran, including an attack on the nuclear facility at Natanz.

The raids have resulted in the deaths of senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) leaders, Iranian military personnel, and nuclear scientists.

The campaign, dubbed Operation Rising Lion, remains ongoing, and Israeli security officials estimate that the strikes could continue for several more days — or even weeks.

Though the strikes were conducted in "full coordination" with the United States, as stated by Secretary of State Marco Rubio shortly after the operation began, they were carried out without the use of US assets or direct support.

"President Trump and the administration have taken all necessary steps to protect our forces and remain in close contact with our regional partners. Let me be clear: Iran should not target US interests or personnel," Rubio said.

Trump commented on the strikes on a post on Truth Social, saying, "I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest terms, to 'just do it,' but no matter how hard they tried, how close they got, they just could not get it done," the US president wrote.

Trump further called on Iran to reach a deal, as "there is still time to make this slaughter and the next come to an end..Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left."
